Core Rehabilitation & Trunk Stabilisation Workshop:

Who is this course for!

This course is available to all bodywork therapists looking to add to their knowledge base, up-skill or offer a whole new perspective on treating their clients’ conditions.
Suitable for massage, sports massage, physiotherapists, gym instructors, sports coaches, fitness instructors etc.
You will need to have a knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology and body work to be able to attend this course – for further information please contact the college and we will be advise you.

What is it about!

This is an extraordinary and knowledge filled two day course for all bodywork therapists. Core weakness and instability is a huge factor in many low back injuries, pelvis injuries, chronic groin, hamstring and lower leg injuries, which can be a cause of acute or chronic injuries. A weak core can lead to injury of the back and be the cause of recurring pain, radiating from the spine, causing secondary symptoms throughout the body.
Weight, force or stabilisation demands, on the lumbar spine, are the source of most spinal problems and they can be aided and prevented through a few focused techniques and strategies. Most therapists are aware of the active (muscular) system in postural and lumbar support problems and focus on this system solely in their rehabilitation techniques. However this neglects the neural system and also the inert tissues of the spinal column. This course teaches the importance of assessing and strengthening all three. By applying the methods learned in this course your client can develop their foundation strength, in their base structure, to provide the support needed for their sport, activity or working life.

You will Learn!

What is meant by the term ‘Core’ and why is this system so important?
What are the structures involved in this system?
How to accurately assess the strength and function of the different core muscles.
How to plan a stabilisation and rehabilitation program.
Switch back on inhibited weak abdominal muscles which may not respond to normal training programmes.
Help clients with lower back problems, alleviate pain and disc compression and awaken & strengthen lumbar structure.
Use exact testing & programming to target and strengthen the actual anatomical structures that control the foundation & base.
