Qualification: UK Level 3 VTCT Diploma Women’s Hairdressing (part-time) (Irish Level 5) - The VTCT International qualification is a highly sought after and fully recognised, by both employers and insurers alike. All of our Hairdressing courses are run from our award winning Dublin training centre - if you are a salon please contact us should you require in-house training for staff.

This bridging course is designed for students who already hold a UK Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing

Course Fee: €1950- All ready hold the CIBHT; VTCT UK Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing receive a discount of €150.00

This excellent all inclusive course price includes: Advanced Training for Hairdressing,Course notes, Portfolio and Access to student Moodel log in area with learning aids & support

You will gain experience on real clients in our Student Salon, throughout your training. Treatments are available at reduced prices for your clients. On occassion you will have to provide models where clients are not available.

Pre-requisite: You must have level 2 Diploma in Women's Hairdressing or equivalent experience to apply for this course.

Course Investment €1950. VTCT fees €150.00

This course gives you an excellent opportunity to develop your existing skills learned through either work experience or the level 2 diploma hairdressing course. Your tutor will take you to the next level of professional hairdressing and also guide you. Your career as a Hair Stylist will really start to take off with modules in salon reception duties; colouring & lightening hair; plaiting & twisting hair.

Qualification Structure:

The art of dressing hair:

  • Develop the creative skill of styling, dressing and finishing hair
  • Apply finishing products to maintain the Style
  • Blow dry, set, put up hair and finish client's hair using heated styling equipment

Cut women's hair to create a variety of looks:

  • Developing your skills to an advanced level
  • Assess the potential of the hair to achieve the desired look
  • Identifying the influencing factors & use cutting technique's to achieve the desired look
  • Develop your skills to create a variety of  advanced looks for women
  • Club cutting, freehand and scissor-over-comb techniques
  • Work on wet, dry , curly and straight hair

Colour women’s hair to create a variety of looks:

  • Advance your skills to change hair colour
  • Be able to prepare & provide for colouring services
  • Evaluate the potential of the hair to achieve the desired look
  • Select and use colouring techniques, products, tools and equipment to colour the hair
  • Prepare and apply the colour and lightening products to complement the desired look

Salon Reception Duties:

  • Create a positive image of yourself and the salon whilst working on the reception desk.
  • Communicate and behave in a professional manner
  • How to represent the business in a professional manner
  • Take and pass on messages
  • Make and record appointments for clients
  • Provide information about your salon
  • Provide information about services and treatments
  • Process client payments
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Maintain reception stock
  • Keep reception area clean & tidy

Style & Dress hair using a variety of techniques:

  • Develop your skills to use a variety of conventional and non-conventional dressing techniques
  • Produce innovative, fashionable and creative looks for your clients.
  • Combine and adapt a variety of styling and finishing methods
  • Use of ornamentation to produce individual finished effects
  • The importance of planning hair-up styles for special occasions

Monitor & maintain health & safety practice in the salon:

  • Develop your skills in a supervisory role
  • Focus on health and safety within your salon
  • Recognise salon hazards, carry out risk assessments and implement the necessary actions
  • Monitor and support colleagues to ensure salon complies with health and safety requirements
  • Implement and supervise salon procedures
  • Insurance requirements
