Fashion, Theatre and Media Make-Up Artistry

This course is suitable for those who are beginners to Make up and would like to progress to an International standard as a Make up Artist. No prior qualifications or experience required. Churchtown Institute has developed it’s Makeup Artistry course with the demands of the film and cosmetic industry in mind. With the growth in the Irish entertainment industry there has been an increase in demand for qualified make-up artists who can work in this highly dynamic field. Our course will provide you with the ability and transferable skills to work both on a Film, TV, Editorial  set’s to Fashion, Catwalks and to providing a bridal makeup. Taught by professional makeup educators, you will acquire a range of makeup skills and explore the elements of creativity that inspire a fashion make-up designer.

Course duration: This course runs over 7 months 6pm to 9pm

What do I need?

Students must provide their own products, makeup e.g. Make-up Kits can be ordered from CIBHT before you start. (cost TBC)

More information:

You start with the basics, how to make a mood-board, face chart and client consultation. You will learn to skin types, how to clease, tone and mositurise the skin to prepare for make up. How to contour, highlight and all about lighting and colour theory.  Then you will learn about Media, Theatre and Fashion and Special Effects Makeup used in TV, film. You will be able to create make up looks for catwalk, theatre and TV work to enclude highlighting and shading, waterproofing working with hair and make up teams and period amke up and scrip requirements. You will also be able to create fantasy characters, use bald caps, block out eyebrows and use wigs and prosthrtics.
